I love metaphors. I love when nature tells us a story or teaches us a life lesson. I get all giddy when something clicks and I tell everyone I meet of what God showed me through a nature example.; I gave one of my clients an assignment, her assignment was to spend the week looking and finding different metaphors that describe her life. I would do the same and we would discuss it on our next one on one time together. I was excited to see what she came up with.
When we got together, she told me about the river, " Don't try to stop the river, the river will flow itself" meaning let it go, when we are in transition nothing is going to stop it from happening. No matter what.
The eagle has only two enemies, The raven and the crow. When the raven and crow jump on the eagle's back and start pecking at its neck, The eagle doesn't struggle to get them off, it just keeps flying higher till the birds can't breathe and falls off. The lesson just keeps going in your life, don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. All those naysayers, rise above them and keep going.
The oyster has no pearl until the oyster experiences stress. Until the oyster goes through some stuff. As the lesson we learn is just keep going even when the storm hits because there is a pearl waiting for you at the other side.
When a red ant is in water it will drown by itself, but, if a bunch of ants hook together, they will survive because they create a chain link. Always make sure you do life with people. Don't walk alone but walk together. Strength in numbers.
The caterpillar was born a caterpillar but went through the darkness to realize all he needed was his wings and the belief in who he always was. Our mind tries to tell us one thing, and we need to believe the truth of who we are and always meant to be.
The metaphor about the pinecone. Pinecones have a male and a female. When a female pinecone experiences distress, she closes up all of her needles and waits for the distress to end. She will not allow the male pinecone to pollinate her because she closes herself up when she doesn't feel safe. As women be careful who you allow in during the times of healing. We need to embrace our healing before we allow others in.
Just because we don't see the seed growing doesn't mean it's not. The seed has to be planted, watered, and sunshine. Just like in our lives, we are growing and becoming. Greatness takes time. You will bloom again.
One of the greatest minerals has to go through the fire to come out as gold. Being refined isn't an easy process. Refinement hurts but then we come out as gold. Embrace the process.
Walking along the beach, you encounter sea glass. The pieces of glass were old broken bottles that have had their edges softened by the ocean waves. Turned into something that is purchased at gift shops. You may be edgy and sharp to the touch. but as life takes you on a rollercoaster ride, it softens you and makes your wisdom priceless.
Nature has a way of pulling us in, A way of taking our breath away as it gives us the lessons we were meant to learn. Everywhere we look there are lessons to embrace, lessons to bring us moments that we say, "never thought of that before." All around us are lessons that we can take in and be changed because now we see it. Take the time to sit and see that nature is watching you and waiting for you to accept the lesson. and change a little bit more. Breath in the moments of life, take those walks, look around you and begin to see life a little different than before
