While we were driving to Alaska, I saw some awesome bridges. I have a thing for bridges. I see the beauty of them, and I also see the significance of the bridge. I see there isn't another way to get to the other side of the destination except for the bridge, I look around my surroundings and wonder can I get there without crossing the bridge. Having a bridge in the middle of the mountain tells me somebody wanted to get to their mountain top experience. Somebody was willing to wait long enough for the bridge to be built to reach their destination. Someone was pondering their destination and needed the patience to wait for a way.
Journeying through our lives, sometimes needs tools to get us through. We travel along our lives, and we see obstacles and wonder; how do I get through? Thats where bridges come in. A bridge can be anything that gets you up the mountain and past the horizon. Think about what has made you climb and not give up, think about what made you look forward and not want to go back, think about the things that gave you strength and direction to keep going, think about the bridges in your life that helped you cross over. Think about the people who waited for you and didn't give up on your journey.
I have experienced some roadblocks in my life, I have been in moments that I didn't see away around the pain, I have been caught at walls that had no way to get around them. I have tried many times to find a way to get rid of this pain. Then a way of escape happened, a bridge showed up in just the right time. I was able to cross that bridge to the other side of the pain and I found peace as I walked across it.
I have crossed many bridges; I crossed so many bridges on this trip. I am sitting here remembering some of the bridges I have been across throughout my life. I am thinking of the bridges that were so scary to cross but, you have no other choice. That bridge is your only option. I have crossed bridges that seemed unsafe but, I saw others crossed so I did and made it to the other side. I also have crossed bridges that only one car could go at a time. I had to wait my turn and be patient until they had crossed. I have been on bridges that I was so scared to cross that my stomach felt like I needed a bag to vomit. but I got to the other side. I have been on bridges that took forever to cross, and you thought the drive would never end to get to the other side. but finally, you are on the land of the other side.
We all have those moments that we can register every experience on the bridge as the experience we have throughout our lives. Bridges and the experience of the crossing are word pictures to our own stories of life. They are lessons of the start and the beginning and the process of getting past it. Like everything thing in our lives, they are just moments and moments never last forever. I love crossing over but, I also don't want to be crossing over the same bridge over and over again. I don't need to always live all moments, whether good or bad again. I like new experiences, and I definitely hate when I didn't learn my lesson the first time around and have to take the bridge again. Plus, it seems like the bridges I always have to redo are the ones I hated crossing. Most bridges you can see to the other side. They are not tunnels that you only see the light but, they are opened that you are witnessing the crossing and not going in blind, like blind faith. The bridge shows you that you can have the faith that you will get to the other side and feel accomplished that you did it.
Bridges are part of all our stories. Not everyone likes them like I do but, whether I like them or not, I must cross them to get to the other side. I take lots of pictures of bridges; I want to remember the bridges I have crossed. I want to remember the process I went through to get to the other side. I want to remember what was waiting for me and rejoice I didn't give up or turn around to find another way. I believed in the bridge, and I allowed the feelings to flow as I crossed them. The beauty of the bridges gave me anticipation to find the next one and stand and take my picture, a reminder I was there, and I got to the other side and so can you!! Bridges teach you something allow yourself to learn the lesson and go find another one. Enjoy the crossing!
